What should I do if I sent cryptocurrency to the wrong wallet?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Sending crypto requires caution — once a transaction is sent, it can’t be reversed. If you think you made a mistake, don’t panic. Here’s what you need to do.

First, keep this in mind

When depositing cryptocurrency into your trading account:

✅ Always send the correct crypto to the correct network. For example:

  • If you're depositing Bitcoin, send it to a Bitcoin address.

  • If you're using USDT (ERC-20), it must go to a wallet that supports ERC-20.

🔗 The key rule: The sender’s network must match the recipient’s network.

⚠️ Sending crypto to the wrong address or network is irreversible and may lead to a total loss of funds.

Think you made a mistake?

If you suspect that you’ve sent crypto to the wrong wallet, act fast:

Tips for the future

  • Always triple-check the wallet address before sending.

  • Make sure you're using the correct network (ERC-20, TRC-20, BTC, etc.).

  • When in doubt, ask before sending — it’s better to be safe than sorry.
