What is an IBAN number and how to get it?

What is an IBAN?

🏦 The IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is a unique number that identifies your bank account internationally. It helps banks in different countries process transfers accurately.

Think of it as your account number but in a global standard format.

How can you get your IBAN?

To get your IBAN, you need to contact your bank and ask for the full details of your bank account. This information usually includes:

  • Account number

  • SWIFT/BIC code

  • And often, the IBAN

Keep this in mind

🌍 Whether your bank provides an IBAN depends on the country where your bank is located and its own internal policies. Some countries don’t use IBANs and instead rely on other bank identifiers.

What if your account doesn’t have an IBAN?

If you don’t see an IBAN in your bank details but you need to enter one in your Libertex member area, you can enter your regular bank account number in that field.

This is usually enough, especially if your bank’s country does not use the IBAN system.

💡 Remember: It’s always best to check with your bank before making any transfers. They can confirm if you need an IBAN or if your local account number will do.
