How do I increase the trade amount in the Libertex platform?

Increasing the trade amount can be useful when you want to protect a trade from forced closure. By allocating free funds to support the trade, you increase its resilience by adjusting the weighted average opening price. Recalculating the opening price also recalculates the forced closure level, moving it further away to a safer distance.

Desktop

You can increase the trade amount in two ways:

  • In the "ACTIVE TRADES" menu, hover over the desired trade and select "Increase trade amount".

  • In the "ACTIVE TRADES" menu, select a specific trade. Then, click the three-dot button and select "Increase trade amount".

Mobile app

Go to the "Trades" section and tap the three dots under the desired active trade. Then, select "Increase Amount".

Important details

  • The minimum increase amount is equal to the minimum trade amount. You can check the minimum trade amounts for instruments on the Instrument Specifications page.

  • The commission for increasing the trade amount is equal to the commission for opening a new trade for the same instrument, including the spread. Commissions are charged according to the Instrument Specifications.

  • The increase in trade amount uses the original multiplier. If the corresponding multiplier is unavailable (for example, during major news releases), the increase cannot be executed until the original multiplier becomes available again for the instrument or the multiplier is changed to an allowed value. You can read more about how to change the multiplier in an open trade here.

  • From the moment the trade amount is increased, the swap fee will be charged based on the new trade volume.

  • The trade amount will increase according to the following formula:

NewInv = New trade amount after the increase procedure

    Inv(0) = Initial trade amount

Inv = Amount of the increase

  • The opening price of the trade will change and equal the weighted average price of the original opening price and the instrument price at the moment of the increase:

NewPrice = New opening price of the trade after increasing the trade amount

    Inv(0) = Initial trade amount

Price(0) = Opening price of the initial trade

Inv = Amount of the increase

Price = Instrument price at the moment of increasing the trade amount
