Before creating new accounts in MetaTrader, it’s important to know the maximum limits allowed for each type. This applies to both real and demo accounts and can save you time and frustration.
💼 Real account limits
Here’s how many real accounts you can have, depending on the platform and execution type:
Account Type 🧭 | Max Allowed 🔢 |
MT4 Market Real | ✅ 10 |
MT4 Instant Real | ✅ 10 |
MT5 Market Real | ✅ 2 |
MT5 Instant Real | ✅ 1 |
🟠 Important Note:
Real accounts with no funds and no activity for 30 days may be automatically closed. So if you're not planning to use them, consider withdrawing funds or placing a trade.
Demo account limits
Demo accounts are great for practice, but they also have their limits:
Account Type 📘 | Max Allowed 🔢 |
MT4 Market Demo | 🧪 10 |
MT4 Instant Demo | 🧪 10 |
MT5 Market Demo | 🧪 9 |
MT5 Instant Demo | 🧪 10 |
✅ Quick Tip: If you reach your demo limit and need more, you can delete old or inactive ones to make room.
What happens if you exceed the limit?
If you try to create a new account after reaching the limit:
The system won’t allow it.
You might see an error message or the option to create a new account may disappear.
You'll need to delete or close an existing account first.
Keep your dashboard clean
🔑 Recommendation:
Check your accounts regularly.
Delete demo accounts you no longer use.
Close or withdraw funds from inactive real accounts.
This not only prevents account issues but also helps you keep your trading panel organized.
